Published Articles on Archaeology in Bedfordshire and the South Midlands

Updated: Jan 18, 2021

During the lockdown period, I have been amazed, educated and entertained during recent months by using online resources. Theatre productions and live music, academic libraries opening up their collections. Art galleries allowing us to see collections. There is something for everyone and the open, sharing movement which has emerged online has been one of the more positive stories.

Pre-dating those higher profile efforts, many regionally based archaeological organisations have opened up their resources. One remarkable example is close to our base. The Council for British Archaeology, South Midlands branch hosts a set of incredible resources for those interested in archaeology in that region (http://www.archaeologyuk.org/cbasm/index.htm).

If you visit this link, then past copies of the CBA South Midlands Journal are available to download free. Copies of Bedfordshire Archaeological Journal are available to download for free at the same location. It is wonderful to see the results of so many commercially led archaeological investigations made available to the public.
