Flood Defences
Working with your team
Flood Defence schemes come in many forms. They will frequently be located relatively close to active water sources and historic settlements. This can mean that archaeological and geoarchaeological potential are issues that need consideration. Stripping ahead of bund creation can mean large areas of ground are revealed and remains in these areas may need recording. Trenches, pipes and flood walls all require localized groundworks, again we are able to identify which pieces of a trench route may require monitoring.
Our works have included working within Registered Parks and Gardens, close to many Listed Buildings and Scheduled Monuments. We are able to pragmatically advise on Consents required and the likely duration of any archaeological recording works needed. Many more such schemes are likely to be needed and we are ready to advise on yours and manage any archaeological works associated.
